Poems created for people on their wedding day.
A night before Sarah’s Wedding It was the night before Sarah’s wedding We had some beers in the house, Nobody could sleep, The excitement of hearing the vows. Finally all nestled, all snug in their beds. Visions of Ciano in the wardrobe, danced in their heads. Joan in her pjs, Howardy by his gun, Had settled down, to rest in prep for the fun. When out on the lawn, there was such a clatter, Claire sprang from her bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window, running like the wind, Was Skinny the dog, after knocking the bins. The light of the morning began to shine through, Sarah was first up, practicing the words “I DO”. When what to her wondering eyes did appear, All the dogs were out, lined like reindeer. "Now, Winnie! Now Molly! Now Ginger and Mo! All arrived at the door, A guard of honour for Sarah, To watch her go.
2020 Wedding Today is the day that you finally wed. 2020 the year, what more can be said. These last few months have been strange, emotional and demanding. Good experience for married life, it will leave you both in good standing. You have dealt with obstacles and made decisions together, Probably a few rows, (that will happen forever!), This is a day about the doctor not the patient, your day in the sun. About the teacher, not the student. Your time to have fun. For when this is all over and the guests have departed, You will be husband and wife, your married life just started. It is then you will enjoy what married life is all about. Watching Leeds United on a Saturday, watching Ronan give out. His culinary skills leave a lot to be desired, If that was one of Niamh's criteria, then Ronan would be fired. He brings his charm and knowledge, which I'm sure Niamh holds in high esteem. And of course the big move abroad, to support Niamh's career dream. Like Offaly in '98 I think that ye will be great. Like Offaly in '94 I think ye will surprise more. Like Tipperary in 2010, ye will sing and laugh again. Like Tipperary in 2011, everything won't be heaven. Happy Marriage to my dear friends Niamh & Ronan
Eamon and Ciara Ciara Lally was her name this morning, as she donned that dress of white, But through 13 years with Eamon, she had the Duane surname in sight. At Portumna Community School, their strong relationship began, Ciara didn’t know much about hurling then, but now she’s Kilimor’s biggest fan. Eamon’s hurling reputation, as a tough centre back is fair. But I’ve been told his fondest pastime, is playing with Ciara’s hair. In UL he spent many an hour at the gym, the Lodge he would also frequent. But when all was said and done, it was over to Mary I, that Eamon went. Ciara spent a year in Africa, improving students education was her call. Now a lifetime with Eamon, she faces her biggest humanitarian task of all. But following a hard day at school, tired after the kids latest barrage. Her husband the Beaumont Physio, can always provide a good massage. Ciara and Eamon are great friends of ours and we wish them a very happy life. Please stand and raise a toast now, for the new husband and wife. To Ciara and Eamon, from Tiger.
